Sisters

My girly girls have become such sweet playmates over the past few months. Maddie has adored Kensi since she was born, but now that Kensi is a bit older they definitely have the sweetest little friendship blossoming. When Maddie pays attention to Kensi and plays with her, Kensi just hangs on her every word. Its precious. And Kensi is like a real life baby doll to Maddie, so its perfect! haha

Maddie has been teaching Kensi "her way" to play with dolls, she dresses Kensi up in her play clothes, she pretends Kensi is her baby and puts Kensi to sleep and the crazy thing is, Kensi does it all! And she loves every last minute of it! So sweet.

Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago, when I heard these two in Maddie's room playing.
Kensi's new favorite thing to do is to crawl up on Maddie's bed with her big basket of jewelery and put them all on. She is just so stinking cute. This is the smile she does with her shoulders all scrunched up when we say, "Kensi, give me your very best smile." Precious!!! (excuse the snotty nose and drool) :)

Maddie is such an awesome big sister! I hope and pray these two have a beautiful friendship their whole life.
Maddie was pretending like Kensi was her baby and putting her to sleep in the only logical place...the hallway. Its crazy to me how Kensi does exactly what she says. It would be great if she listened to me half as well as she does to Maddie. :)

Unbelievable. She just stays put until Maddie tells her to get up. So funny.

Sisters are such a special gift. I am so glad my girls have each other to play with and experience life together.

Welcome back, Spring.....We missed you!

I am so glad we have arrived in spring! I just LOVE when the weather warms up enough to have just sweaters on and the grass starts turning back to its lovely shade of green. I love hearing the birds in the morning and watching everything come back to life after a long winter. Amazing.
We have been able to get out and enjoy some of the beautiful weather. Here are some random pics of the kiddos at my parents house the other weekend...
The Fabulous Four....
Yay for popsicle weather!!!!!!
What a crew!
The goose took a break from her busy schedule of running around to stop in for a photo-op.
J & K. Beautiful.

I love these faces.....just wanna kiss them all over!
I love seeing the new life spring brings......green grass, beautiful daffodils, blue skies! Its a welcome change from our long winter. Looking forward to many, many warm, lazy days with the kiddos...

Whats Been Going on Around Here

(No. Your eyes are not decieving you. This really is another post from me so soon. I am on a roll! )

In between all the sickness and hoopla, we managed to have a little fun! Here are some recent pics of random things. ;)

For Valentine's Day this year, Maddie wanted to make all her cards for the kids in her class instead of buying them. She made 18 homemade V-day cards....what a girl! She is so creative and drew the greatest pics and was so thoughtful with each card she made. They were so cute I just had to snap a pic of some...

Precious, right?! Kobe on the other hand stuck with the trusty, ole' generic store bought cards...shocking, I know.

For the month of February, Kobe joined up for the city's wrestling clinic. He has been asking for the past 2 years to do this, and I really didn't want him too, but this year I caved. And it ended up being a great time for him, where he learned so much about the sport of wrestling. He loved going to the practices, learning the different moves and holds (and he was actually pretty good at it! ) He also did it with his best buddy Nick, so that was an added bonus!

Kobe is in the blue pants...
Nice move, Kobester.
Kensi and Brianna cheering for their big brothers! (Doesn't Kensi look like an adult next to Bri?) Reecey-Roo doing her cheers.
It really was a fun time for Kobe and he is already looking forward to the next clinic. (I still secretly hope this is not the sport he gets really into. Shhhhh!;) ).

Another exciting thing that happened around here was the arrival of new bunk beds. The kids were so excited. Back when we finished the basement in 2007 , we built a bedroom for Kobe. Its a great room and he loves it, but the thing is I didn't realize how NOT ok I would be with him sleeping 2 floors below where we are. When he started sleeping down there, I would get up two and three times a night and run down 2 flights of stairs to check on him. It was exhausting. He also was a bit nervous about it too. So I ended up moving a matress up here that slid underneath Maddie's bed and that is where he has been sleeping. So his room is still downstairs, but when its time for bedtime, he sleeps up here and I sleep so much better knowing that all my little chiclets are ten steps away. Anyway, all that to say, the kids were super excited to get new bunkbeds. (as soon as Kensi gets out of her crib, we will move her in with Maddie and move Kobe's room back upstairs. Aaron still doesn't understand why I didn't figure this out before he did all that work on the basement! :p)
This was a family affair I tell ya....they were all so excited to help.

The goose was the mastermind behind the project....picking out what screws went where and barking out orders.
Almost there! What a team!

The finished product....and three happy little faces!!
To say they love them is an understatement. The first week we had to bribe them to come out. They even set up a pulley system with a plastic box where they could write notes back and forth and send them in the box. SO CUTE! And Kensi loves it too and considers Maddie's bed her personal play area.

And to finish up (and just for you Windsor:)), here are some cute pics of my goosey girl. She has been so funny lately and just says and does the funniest things. She is changing and growing up so fast. She loves dressing up and carrying bags. She continues to be such entertainment and a pure delight for us. I will do a more detailed update on her soon and all the new things she is doing.

She has recently figured out how to open the pantry doors and I am having such a time trying to keep her out. One day it was a little too quiet, so I went in search of her and found her hiding in a corner eating cereal out of the box as fast as she could. It was so funny, I had to grab the camera. Doesn't she look like a deer caught in headlights?!
Alright thats all for now. More to come, but I have to pace myself. :) To much blogging so suddenly might send me over the edge. :)

I'm Alive!

Hey there. Sorry about that long silence. Mamasita has been so busy with life she has no time for the old bloggy. I seem to go in spurts with posting...I just can't keep up with everything. (I just noticed that I have been 'blogging' since Nov 2007, and I have a whopping 83 posts. Sad, I tell ya).

Anyway, all is well here. We have had a crazy past few weeks. The month of February was rough on all of us as we each got the flu. It was horrible!!!! Ugh! So bad its making me re-think not getting the flu shot. Hmmmm. Every week in Feb, somebody different was sick. I HATE seeing the kids so sick. I just want to take it all away....they are just so pitiful. But, we all pulled thru like troopers (ha...like my little pun?!).

On the very last day of February, Aaron was in a very bad car accident close to our house on his way home from work. It was awful, but thank God Aaron or the other girl was not hurt. Both cars were totaled. ( a girl driving a SUV didn't stop before entering the main road and they crashed in the intersection). Anyway, that was a very terrible night that I don't want to remember, so I won't recall all the details. I am just so thankful for God's protection over Aaron.

I have struggled a bit with anxiety since then when he is working. I am doing better than I was. The first time he went back to work after the accident, I had panic attacks for a few days. It was like I was suddenly gripped with this fear and couldn't get past it. But I continue to give it over to the Lord and recall all the things the Lord has spoken over Aaron and how He led him straight to this job. CHOOSING to trust Him and let go. It has helped so much to focus on these things. Now I only call him about 10 times a shift instead of 20. I kid, people. I kid. Kindof. :)

So, I am glad to have February behind me and am cruising on thru March. I have so much catching up to do on here. I am going to try and do that this weekend. I am not sure what has changed, but suddenly I feel like I just have no time for anything. I keep busy with the kids activities and sports and just keeping things up around the house. But we have so many new and exciting things going on, so hopefully I can catch it all up.

Well, my friend Aaron just walked thru the door, so its off to bed for me. Night.

P.S. What do ya think of the new look?!? I found it on a new site. I feel kind of bad for cheating on The Cutest Blog On The Block, but I just couldn't pass it up!

Snow! Snow! Snow!

We had such a great time yesterday playing in the snow. I was so suprised at how much snow we actually got. I thought it was just going to be a quick storm with little to no accumulation. So to wake up to all the snow and for the kids to be off from school was reason to celebrate around here.

Let it Snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Maddie teaching Kensi the snow dance...
This was Kensi's first real time playing in the snow, so I was so excited to see what she would think of it. I got all the kids dressed to go out (which is no small task! ) and then we headed out.

Kensi was delighted to say the least. She just squealed and squealed. It was so cute! And I just wanted to eat her up she looked so cute all bundled up!
Lucky for her she had Maddie to teach her how to make a snowball to throw at Kobe before he got them first. Look at the little piles of snow in her hands...haha!
My babies all bundled up and ready for fun!

Nick came over and spent the day with us. He couldn't find his gloves, so he borrowed a pair of Maddie's...he is man enough to wear pink! Go Nick-a-bocker!

Kensi was hilarious. She LOVED sledding. She would ride with me or one of the kids down the hill and just laugh hysterically the whole time and then try and run back up the hill to do it again. She is so funny how she just tries to keep up and do exactly what the big kids do.
Kobe took a picture of me and the girls. Looks like Maddie was more interested in eating the snow.
Kensi was so funny, she literally just rolled around in the snow. She would crawl around in it and just squeal in delight.......and was just sticking her face in the snow eating it like a dog. Ha! She was so fun to watch.

Sweet Maddie at the top of the hill and a tiny Kensi at the bottom of the hill trying to make her way back up. haha. Kensi looks so funny way down there.
Maddie was so excited that this was the second snow and she could eat it. haha! :) She dug right in. I am sure she will love this pic when she is about 16yrs. :) I think its adorable!

Such a beautiful day! Lots of snow and blue skies...what could be better?!?!

We had such a fun day together. After we were soaking wet and exhausted, we came in for some hot chocolate and movies. I love snow days and think we should have at least one a week thru the winter. :)

PS. Here is a picture from the snow we got last week of the Fabulous Four out playing.
